Read more about The Transport Division
In the Transport division our research targets transport behaviour and to finding solutions for an effective design and regulation of the transport sector.
We focus on improving mobility in relation to the three main challenges within this sector: 1) climate and environment 2) traffic congestion 3) traffic safety. We put numbers on traffic and the economic societal effects using statistical analysis of transport behaviour. We conduct public sector consultancy for the Ministry of Transport and Housing and collaborate with traffic companies and traffic institutions.
The Transport division is divided into six sections:
We model transport demand and assess impacts of transport policies and future infrastructure.
We predicts network flows, congestion and travelers route choice.
We study behavior in traffic to support safe and sustainable transport.
We develop and apply methods to assess the welfare economic effects of transport policies.
We use machine learning techniques to make transport systems smart and adaptive to passenger needs.
The Center for Transport Analytics works with various data and models to support scientific advice and research activities in the division.
